Welcome to The North Atlantic Islands

The North Atlantic islands consist of – running from west to east – ,Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. These islands are situated between North America and Northern Europe, all located close to the Arctic Circle. They have common historical roots due to the fact that all three islands were colonised by the Vikings during what is now known as the Viking Age (700 to 1050 AD).

Today they’re all modern societies with strong links to Scandinavia (the Faroe Islands and Greenland are both part of the Danish Community of the Realm). As travel destinations they’re typically characterised by terms such as scenic, spectacular, unspoilt, purity, peace and their unique culture.

This website has been produced as an element of the tourism cooperation that takes place under the auspices of NATA (North Atlantic Tourism Association). This website should be seen as a supplement to each of the individual tourism councils’ own sites and thus doesn’t contain an unnecessary amount of detail. Focus is applied to ensuring a good experience for the user and indeed the users’ own input.

Turismesamarbejde mellem Grønland, Island og Færøerne

Alle, med interesse i at fremme turismerelationerne mellem landene, kan søge om midler til finansiering af projekter, ideer, produktudvikling, rejser eller lignende. Ansøgninger skal minimum indeholde samarbejde mellem to ud af de tre lande.

Ansøgning udfyldes på dansk eller engelsk.
